Clicking on the [GM] will load the Google Map location for easier navigation, and clicking on the [AT] will load the AllTrails information, if one exists for that location.

HIKE OF THE WEEK

Paper Airplane Trail [GM] [AT

This is an easy loop hike that is only 0.9 miles long up near Eden, UT. This is also a perfect trail to take BMX or mountain bikes on as well. Make sure to make a stop off at the treehouse structure that you can climb with the kids and get some nice views of the valley.

MURAL OF THE WEEK

Murl-ica” [GM]

This Americana mural is situated just off 2100 South in South Salt Lake and is a perfect mural to visit to celebrate this Memorial Day.

WATER ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK

Dripping Rock Falls” [GM] [AT]

This is an easy, out-and-back (OAB) hike to do in Spanish Fork that is only 0.7 miles long. The path makes this super easy to walk, but you can also bring bikes, skateboards or scooters. In addition, there are a couple of great places to get in the water and cool off.

HISTORICAL/CULTURAL ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK

Vietnam Memorial at “Layton Commons Park” [GM]

What better activity to commemorate Memorial Day than an activity that allows you to visit a memorial that is dedicated to the men and women who gave their lives for the freedoms we enjoy.

NATURE ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK

Mantua Poppy Field” [GM]

“Lambert Park” [GM]

The poppy fields in Utah bloom in late May and early June, so this is the perfect time to put this on your radar to visit as soon as possible. There are several great places to see the poppy fields, but our favorites are in Mantua or in Utah County at Lambert Park.

CRAFT/ACTIVITY OF THE WEEK

Geocaching

Geocaching is one of our favorite activities to do as a family because my kids think it is like treasure hunting. You can set up a FREE account on the website linked above and start hunting for caches. Bring a pen to sign the log with and record your find on the app that you can download to your phone. Also, bring a few small trinkets to trade for a treasure that is in the cache. ENJOY!!

DAY TRIP OF THE WEEK

Bear Lake/Garden City, UT

For the day trip this time around we want to take you all the way to the Northeast part of Utah and share some of our favorite things to do in Garden City, UT.

     - “Bloomington Lake” [GM] [AT] This is our favorite spot to hike because it is only 1.1 miles out-and-back (OAB) easy hike to a rope swing. We bring our stand up paddle board (SUP) and fishing stuff because they are easy to hike in.

     - “North Beach State Park” [GM] This beach is right along the North rim of the Bear Lake and has some awesome swimming spots and you can rent kayaks, jet skis, boats and a lot of other fun water activities at this spot.

     - “Garden City Park” [GM] This playground is fun and features our favorite mural in the area. “Smile, You’re in Bear Lake” [GM]

     - “Garden City Pond” [GM] This popular fishing spot is a great place to hit early in the day or later in the evening.

     - “Epic RV Park and Marina” [GM] Another fun spot for swimming, and rentals but we especially like the water trampoline!

     - “Beaver Creek Lodge” [GM] This is the kids favorite place to rent RZR's from and explore the trails up near Beaver Creek Lodge.

     - “Limber Pine Nature Trail” [GM] [AT] This is a super easy 1.3 mile loop hike where you can explore the pine trees west of Garden City and all that nature provides.
